For a handful of years (from about 2008 through 2014) the Mercedes-Benz C Class really lost a lot of ground to their closest competitors – the BMW 3 series and the Audi A4/A6.

This legendary German automaker just wasn’t able to put together an entry-level luxury sedan that had all of the safety, performance, and luxury features that modern buyers were looking for, and they also were really struggling with an exterior aesthetic that people could get excited about.

Combine that with a much higher entry-level price point for their entry-level vehicles, and you were looking at a perfect storm of negative conditions.

In 2015, the new Mercedes-Benz C Class sets out not to be right the past, but to forge the future.

Pros

Where do we begin?

Head and shoulders above the rest of the competition (including the vehicles that we mentioned above), this new C Class is easily the most exciting entry-level luxury vehicle lineup you’re going to find on the market today.

It has everything that customers are looking for. We are talking about ridiculous driving performance (horsepower has been upgraded by almost 15% across the board on average), new luxury features including a plush interior and a multimedia 8.4 inch touchscreen, and integrated smart phone/tablet features that allow you to control your car and its security system no matter where you are.

All of that is packed in a newly redesigned exterior that is very sharp, very clean, and very modern. The total package is really something to see.

Cons

Mercedes is still asking a premium price tag for the brand-new C Class above and beyond the competition, which is going to be a little bit of a hard sell for those that are entrenched with another luxury car company.

However, they have a variety of incentives to make the switch, and the price gap between the competition really isn’t as large as it used to be. People should expect Mercedes to make major inroads in the entry-level luxury sedan field with the new C Class.

What makes the Mercedes-Benz C Class so exciting?

At the end of the day, nothing really beats going with the Mercedes-Benz pedigree. The new C Class includes a lot of advanced features that you would only find in much more expensive models (including the E Class), and thanks to the aggressive new styling both inside and out people are going to fall in love all over again with this automobile lineup.
